A Peach Of A Day!
The bride loved peaches and navy blue! Vintage Floral Design loved collaborating with the bride and groom as well as their talented wedding planner/designer Amy of Amelia Lawrence Weddings (www.amelialawrenceweddings.com) The florals were filled with fresh peaches, kumquats, apricots, rosemary & mint while mixing in fun textures of Feather Eucalyptus, white Wax flower and peach Hypericum berries. Let’s not forget the opulent and fragrant Free Spirit and Campella garden roses.
The ceremony was held in the beautifully manicured botanical gardens overlooking the Potomac River and the gorgeous reception was held under Oxon Hill’s fabulous tent which offered a romantic elegant dining experience for the bride & groom’s guests. The design for the dinnerware was vintage Cobalt blue and white plates. Vintage Floral Design created gorgeous floral designs of hydrangea, roses and hanging fruit which were showcased in our 1920’s Fenton Milk Glass Compotes. It was a touch of nostalgia which brought rave reviews and comments from everyone attending. We also designed greenery with accents of peach and white blooms down the center of King’s tables along the perimeter of the tent. Every place setting had a fresh peach with a hand calligraphy name card attached. The bride and groom’s favor was a three-legged porcelain pig which symbolizes good fortune and well wishes. It was a lovely personal touch. Vintage Floral Design loved creating this fabulous design for our clients from the flower girl’s crowns to the loose greenery around the dessert table filled with delicious guava turnovers made by Paisley & Fig (www.paisleyfig.com) The bride wore a lovely two piece gown designed by BHLDN (www.bhldn.com)
Venue: Oxon Hill Manor, 6901 Oxon Hill Rd, Oxon Hill Maryland. Oxon Hill Manor is a neo-Georgian house of 49 rooms built in 1928. It was designed by Sumner Welles by the Washington DC architect, Jules Henri de Sibour.
